| Let it snow... | ||
We're under a Winter Storm Warning until midnight, woohoo:-) Up to 8 inches could come our way. As of 9:30 AM, it is lightly snowing. Radar doesn't look very impressive, hopefully that will turn around and get nasty looking! As of 2:00 PM, nuttin much. The weather guessers have failed us.. |

| Google Mail and Maps... | ||
Google sure is doing some cool stuff! I have been using their Gmail for a while now. I pretty much use it while at work for people to send me funny pics, movies, and other large files. They have 1 GIG of disk space, and free... I have a ton of Gmail invites to pass out. If you would like one one, leave a comment with your e-mail address or use the Contact Us form. If I am feeling charitable, I'll send you one. Have you seen Google Maps? Very nice! A friend of mine has been working on a little interface tool that will help you plot GPS coordinates on the Google Map. This would be a sweet addition to Geocaching. Gotta run, beer to drink:-) If you haven't been keeping up, check out the Moblog! |

| No More Brace Face!! | ||
We found out today that Sam will be getting her braces off this coming Wednesday!! Many, many thousands of dollars have been pumped into her mouth. Many, many years have been invested into this too. Now, if we can just hold Mike off for a year or two, we might be able to save up for his in advance! Check it out... |

| Beer, beer, beer, beer... | ||
If you have been following my Moblog, which gets updated more often than this page does, you know that I recently discovered the mutha load of beer, here in the Northwood's! It's really hard to find good beer up here. Here is how the discovery played out... I suppose I should almost thank that crazy bastard Floyd for the find, but na, I won't do that:-) So... I had to run to the Tyme machine at lunch to get some money to pay the crazy bastard for a couple blankets he brought back from Mexico. While there, I figured I would get a couple extra bucks and walk through this little strip mall to Bonson's Pick 'N Save grocery store to get a bag of chips and something from the deli. Now mind you, I've been to Bonson's dozens of times since I started working in Eagle River 3+ years ago. I've even been inside the little strip mall to hit the Tyme machine. However, I have never walked through the little strip mall betwix the Tyme machine and Bonson's. As I was about to round the corner into Bonson's I noticed a little liquor store, called the Liquor Spot. I took a couple steps past the entrance and then wheeled around and decided to check out their selection of beer. As I entered the store, a granny type lady was working the register. As I was walking past her, I asked if they had any good beer. She simply said “oh yes”, and pointed to the back of the store. Things were looking good as I was a good four aisles from the beer cooler when I noticed Carlsberg and Hacker-Pschorr lining one aisle. I proceeded right to the cooler and started scanning through the selections from top to bottom. I was getting excited to see all these different beers from all the small little micro-brews. Then, there it was, I spotted something familiar! Yes, it was! Could it be!?! YES!!! A 6-pack of Bell’s Beer!! I almost unloaded right there, it wasn’t the much coveted Porter, but I somehow felt that it was near. Granny had followed me back to the cooler. I immediately snapped around and demanded to know if they had any more Bell’s Beer. She showed me down an aisle and spread wide her arms. I immediately scanned the 7 to 8 different types and there it was… Bell’s Porter, in all her glory!! I immediately grabbed two 6-packs, thinking that maybe someone would come in and take them before I had the chance to grab them. I informed my new found granny friend that a box was needed, ASAP! As she turned toward the back room to fetch this madman his box, she said that if I liked fruity beers, this Cranberry Stout was really good. I hate fruity beers, so I was thinking more along the lines of why won’t this woman shut up and get me the damn box!!??!! I was already thinking up ways I could drive back to Crandon on my lunch break and get my pickup truck! I started looking around and saw they had beers from Capital, New Glarus, Tyranena, Sam Adam’s, and Big Sky breweries. I was freaking out! I started to get the sweats. I was a like a junkie, suddenly confronted with the worlds largest spoonful of smack and a syringe large enough to draw it all in!! Somewhere between filling the first box with 6-packs and nearly making a demand for more boxes, I must have snapped out of my beer induced rage. Rather than being gluttonous, I grabbed a couple more 6-packs and made off with a case. Now a small problem was about to develop. I had this case of really great beers in the front seat of my car and I still had 4 more hours of work + the 1 hour drive home. Good God! How in the hell is a man supposed to get ANY work done. BP finally came over and helped me drink a few of them during the Daytona 500. This whole week has been great! I’ll be getting another case on Tuesday:-) |

| Down With The Sickness!! | ||
WOW! Did I have a bout of the creepin cruds!! Man, totally down for the count, real hard for about 4 days. One week later and I'm feeling a bit more normal, about as normal as I would ever get. This weekend I'll sleep in, like normal, and get mo' betta! Mike had a brief blast of it too, wound up getting sick at school, which got me out from under the blankets so I could retrieve him. Michelle and Sam have avoided it, knock on wood... Jake on the other hand was crappin like a Clydesdale. I think if you were a male, in our house, you got the nasty-nasty. Wassup with Kazaa and eDonkey lately? I've been trying to download The Dogs of War by Pink Floyd and their networks are soooooo slow. Jeez, I might have to go legit and buy the CD:-) I usually use eDonkey for my downloads now, but have resorted to running Kazaa to get that MP3. Michelle's brother is doing pretty good these days. If you aren't a frequent flyer here, he got his arm mangled in an auger. They removed stitches/staples and now he is in a cast. I guess the pain is VERY bad. It is going to be a long hard battle. Posted a couple pics out on the Moblog and got racing videos done for BP over at VintageTwister.com. |
