15 Years... Whoda Thunk It!?!
I never imagined myself with the same person for more than 3 months, let along 15 years!  We've been together nearly 17 now, but damn, 15 of them bound by a hunk of paper and a couple of witnesses.  What the hell was I thinking!!??!!  Hehe.

Ah, it's been a pretty cool 15 years...  Some ups and some downs, but always done together.  Toss in a couple of kids over the years and the challenges just keep coming.  Now the major challenge is to see these kids through the remainder of their school days so we can have some fun when they are gone!  Woohoo!!

Happy anniversary, Michelle.  If this can be used in lieu of a card and/or roses next year, send me an e-mail and let me know.

"Trucker Bombs"?? What?!?!?
I drove OTR for many years.  It was a great way of life for me, I loved grabbing the big ol' wheel of my Pete or Volvo and gear-jammin cross country.  I knew there were all kinds of questionable things going on and that it was, at times, a dirty, dirty world.  "Lot lizards", "good buddies", "pickle parks", and all kinds of creepy crawlers were easy to find, if you were into that kind of stuff.  I've seen some weird shit in my day while out on the road...

A friend at work sent the following link to me today about "trucker bombs".  You should probably check it out and come back here.

I logged about 3/4 of a million miles in the 5+ year that I drove; I always wished I had done a better job in keeping up with recording total miles like I did in the first few years...  I used Lotus 1,2,3 and had a nice DOS spreadsheet of my monthly driving miles, logged and not (shhh, don't tell Smokey!).  I can honestly say to all 3 of my readers, maybe 2...  I have never, ever, ever created a "trucker bomb".  OH SURE!!  I have whizzed on every highway and bi-way around the USA, including a couple provinces in Canada, eh.  But, those were legitimate "tire checks" required by the Department of Transportation.  And you know, every so often yer wheel bearings would get a little warm.  You have to cool them down, in the interest of John Q. Public and safety, of course.  When I saw that picture on the MSNBC website I nearly died laughing...  Not necessarily because I felt it was a funny topic.  Hell no it isn't funny; guys operating mower equipment are hitting these bombs and wearing wee!!  No, I saw that big pile of jugs filled with wee and thought to myself, "damn, some poor ass J.B. Hunt truck driver has probably been storing all those bombs in his "cabin-over" just waiting to unload".  I wonder...  Do these truckers pull over to fill 'r up, or, fill while driving?  Mind you, big rigs aren't as smooth as driving your Lexus!  If it were, i'd still be doing it today!!  Every crack in the road could mean a wet hand!!  Myself, I am too damned uncoordinated to wee into a jug while keeping 80,000 pounds pointed straight down the road.  I've seen bombs in the ditches, look around, you will too.  I wonder how those lady drivers fill bombs?  Oh, and before you say, "a lady driver would never do that", think again...  Go back to the last sentence of the first paragraph...  Oh yeah, I've witnessed women drivers whizzin between the cab and trailer before.  Now I know this is still an occupation done mostly by men, but I wanna make sure to call out them nasty ladies too, haha.

I knew truckers were doing it, but I never knew it was such a problem, I just thought they had shy kidneys and couldn't wee outdoors or something.  If you're a driver, and you make bombs, stop it!!  Pull over to the side of the road...  Walk around to the passenger side...  Step between the cab and trailer and check your air lines.  While you're at it, take your tire hammer and check them tires!  If you're in a pickle park or a nasty truck stop and too scared to go in, wee off the deck!

Homecoming, fall colors, frost, and toilet paper
Homecoming week is here...  Leaves are turning colors real nice now, we'll probably be at peak within the next week or so...  First hard frost of the season happened this morning...  Toilet paper liters the trees and shrubs of many a house in town.  Sammi is a freshman this year and I guess that means we've become a target of the tee-pee-ers now.  Some kids papered our trees and fence tonight.  If I remember, I will try to snap a picture tomorrow.  Edit: No pics...  Sammi and Michelle cleaned it up in the AM.  They came in stealth mode...  Sammi was downstairs and I was in the office, when she came upstairs to get ready for bed she saw it hanging in the trees and blowing in the breeze.  Jake, our overpaid watchdog never woke up, haha.

A few people have e-mailed and asked when the comments are coming back.  They aren't.

Stupid...
I got home late tonight...  Was reading the paper whilst eating my cheeseburger.  The following headline out of our Podunk newspaper caught my attention.  I would link to the Podunk news from here, but the site sux, so I won't.

"Potawatomi Vice-Chairman charged with drunken driving, possession of marijuana"

The vice chairman of the Potawatomi Indian tribe, Al Milham, gets nailed for OWI and it seems that he likes tokin some reefer.  Here are the highlights from the article.
  • This is his third OWI offense.
  • He was clocked on radar doing 58 MPH in a 25 MPH.
  • He blew a .206 BAC, .08 is legally trashed.
  • 3-4 grams of a leafy substance which later tested positive for THC was found in the car.
  • Upon hearing what the officer found in the car, "he laughed and said 'oh well'".
Now I know that he is due his day in court and all, but it looks as though he has a pretty lengthy history of convictions.  I did a quick check on our state circuit court site and see plenty of prior convictions.  Why is this guy still a vice anything?  If this had been any public official for any city/county/state government, he would have been ousted after the first conviction.  Need proof?  Look at Peg Lautensharpshooter or, whatever the hell her name is.  She won't be running for reelection in our State's Attorney General race in November, mostly in part because she imbibed on a few too many cocktails while driving a state owned car and got nailed for it.  It is very hard not to stereotype when you see headlines like that.  Way to go Al!  Nice positive role model you are for your tribe's youth!  I'll bet they promote you!

BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!!!
About time!!  The rugrats are heading back tomorrow!!  Woohoo!!  Sammi will be a freshman and Mikey will be in 5th grade.  I hope we have a good year this year and no major flippin headaches.

Besides the kiddies returning to school, tomorrow is a cool day for me too, but I can write more about that another day...  I'll give you a couple hints...
  • I have NOT had approximately 14,500 of them!
  • I have saved roughly $2,200 in NOT having them!
Time for a few goof-balls and off to bed...

Bill Treder for Oneida County Sheriff
Ok, I live in Forest County, so why advertise for a dude who is running for the top cop job in Oneida County?  Well, he is my friend's dad, and I have met him before and he seemed like a pretty cool dude.  So, that said, here is a link to his website.  Bill Treder for Oneida County Sheriff.

As for the Forest County Sheriff's job...  No public endorsement from this household for either candidate.  We'll get that all figured out at next weeks primary since each is running as a Democrat.

Oxycodone == Good Night Sleep (hopefully)
My back is jacked...  Scrounged through the goof-ball, read pill, repository tonight and came up with some goodies...

Podunk News Update: They have hung up a black curtain!  Looks like a High School television studio set, but much better than ripped up drywall, haha.  I'm sorry, I shouldn't put down those fancy schools with a TV studio, they probably have a bigger budget than WJFW does, haha.

Crandon races are over.  I guess my old friend, Scott Schwalbe, won the CORR Super Buggy Championship today!  Congrats Scott!  Kids had fun, Sammi bought a couple t-shirts and Mikey scored some BF Goodrich SWAG from Scott.

Been working on some new business stuff.  Hopefully some details will be coming up soon about that!

I just ran this through the spell checker and it came back ok, I had better quit while I am ahead and, before the text blurs into a big old pile of poo before my eyes.

Keep a tight one... (Thanks Jimmy)
