Post Xmas and a nice little vacation too!!
Yup, I'm a bum and taking the week off between holidays. I have been sleeping in VERY late:-) On Sunday, the 26th, BP was sending me e-mails all morning asking if I was awake yet. I finally saw his e-mails about the same time he called me, sometime after noon, hehehe. On Wednesday, the 29th, I was spoonin with Michelle when I heard the towns fire alarm go off. Yeah, we live in one of those Podunk towns where they call out the fire department by sounding the tornado siren with 3 short bursts. They also let it fly once at noon and 10 o'clock PM. So, as I lay there, half in a fog, I thought, "hmmm, fire somewhere"... No, it only went off once, it was the noon whistle!! I left Michelle to sleep, she works nights, and I headed off to the shower and the coffee pot.

So, anywho... Here it is, 2:20 AM... Any takers on what time I get up tomorrow, er, today!!??!!

The kids have been so nice and quiet during the morning, it's easy to be a bum. Each of them is messing around with their Xmas gifts and not fighting. That surprises the crap outta me!! Mikey is tearing up Madden Football 2005. It was fun being able to kick their butts at a game, finally! Usually they kick my butt when we do the snowboarding games. The kids each got a 13 inch color TV from Santa this year for their rooms. I don't the idea of a TV in their room that much, but... Whose is gonna argue with Santa, er, Mrs. Claus:-) At least they are fighting about who is watching what on the other TV's in the house. Sammi now has another reason not to hang with the family and spend all those hours in her bedroom listening to music (stereo from Santa), dreaming of boys, and watching TV.

I think all-in-all, everyone here had a nice Christmas. Michelle and I never really exchange gifts. We usually get something together for the house or for us. We're kicking around a few ideas now. I'm pimping her for a new computer, HAHAHAHA!! I think we might get a treadmill. With her working odd ball hours and not really having any time to get bundled up to go out and walk, this would be good for her. I would also like to start walking, but I can't really walk with anyone. My back hurts so God awful bad after a few hundred feet of walking that I need something I can just get on, walk until I start to ache, relax, and repeat. Just about 4 months without a smokie now. Time to lose the weight I gained and try to get a bit healthier in 2005.

I would be a really bad Packer fan if I didn't thank Santa for the early Xmas present!! Santa, thank you for seeing to it that the Viqueens lost, at home, to the Packers, so that we could become the NFC North Division Champs. Then, if that weren't enough, he gave us a belated Xmas gift too!! It seems, the idiot owner of the Viqueens is a true blue maroon!! He picked up Mike Liceballs contract option for 2005!! That's almost a guaranteed lock that they will suck just as bad in 2005. Their head coach is a real friggin idiot, and his players are a bunch of prima dona queens... I fear that someday, they might get a real head coach. One who makes the players work and play as a team, instead of being in-duh-viduals! One who will take Cullpepper and Moss and clank their heads together.

Have a safe and happy New Years!!

Xmas Linkies & Stuff...
Tis the season... Everyone in your address book is busy sending you Xmas related websites and the funny Xmas tunes of the season start getting played on the radio. I heard one such tune today. I have no idea who sings it, I Googled "redneck Christmas lyrics" and it was number one. Here is the last verse.
On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me...
Twelve-pack of Bud, eleven wrestlin tickets, tin of Copenhagen, nine years probation, eight table dancers, seven packs of Red Band, six cans of Spam, five flannel shirts, four big mud tires, three shotgun shells, two huntin dogs, and some parts to a Mustang GT.

Here's a link for you to go play with Santa in a neat little flash game:-) Watch out for the train tracks!! Use the arrow buttons on your keyboard to guide him to his cup so he can get buzzed.

What?? You didn't get your fill of Redneck Xmas?? Well, here's a link to a white trash Xmas! Click on the "Watch Film" link under the baby with the Miller Lite (good baby!!).

Do you remember writing letters to Santa?? I sure do! I wish we had the Internet back in the 1970's! This link sure would have saved me a whole bunch of time!!

Here is a link to a movie file located on my server. I do not know the details regarding the movie, but it is very funny. It is about 2 megs, so if you have dialup, it may take you a bit. Does anyone have dialup anymore? I think BP was the last convert to broadband!! Cops pull over Santa.

I know that we have all probably felt like belting out this song at the good old employer sponsored Christmas party. I sure wish I had at more than one place I've worked at in the past!! Click here to check it out. Speaking of work... I had a link to a dumb ass "holiday greeting" they had posted on their website. They e-mailed it to everyone. I think they wanted us to send it on to clients. OMG, how frickin stoopid is that!! "Yeah, thanks big dollar clients, here's a spiffy little animated gif for ya to look at and read all about how great we are". Yeah, whatever, dorks! The big Q, all over it, as usual... They did give us a holiday gift this year! A shirt. I even got one in extra extra extra extra fat! Even though I only need a 3x fat shirt, I took 4x fat. Why? Simple... Costs more!! This will undoubtedly make up for that lackluster .34% pay increase we're sure to get. I should not be so optimistic:-) Actually, 4x is big enough that the whole family will be able to use it as a homeless shelter when they close our office! My wonderful company closed one of our California offices a week and a half ago. They aren't moving the division, no, they are abandoning it entirely!! Not relocating it, selling it, nothing... Their taking the write-off and tossing some peeps out on their ears after 2/14/2005. Nice Xmas present for the 80 or so employees out there, huh? {hanging head in shame}

Lastly, watching just about anything over at Jib Jab is well worth the visit!! The Santa Claus flash animations they have come up with are pretty good.

If I don't get the time to come out and post a message on Xmas eve, have a great Christmas!!

IT IS OVER!!! Damn, it's cold outside!!! More Snow!!!
I survived the trip:-) Actually, it wasn't as horrific as I thought it would be! It's always nice to see people and BS, but in a way, a sick and twisted way, we almost need to spend more time down there to properly visit.

Saturday, while visiting with Michelle's folks, we had to make a trip out to do the "nursing home tour". During our time out, the roads froze up real nice from the snow they were getting. Had a nice experience sliding down a hill on Grandview Blvd., through a red light. I think almost everyone saw me flashing headlights like a madman as I was pumping the brakes down the hill. Got back to the room around 10 PM or so and pretty much died...

Sunday we packed up the hotel room into the same number of bags we brought in and headed off to my sister's house in Oak Creek. Had a great time visiting with everyone. Tom picked up some really kickin sausages from one of those little Italian Deli's on the east side of Milwaukee. We brought a couple of those sausage sammys home with us too, thanks Tom!! After visiting and opening gifts, we loaded up the car with the loot and headed back home. Drove back home via Appleton and listened to the Packer game along the way. What a mistake that was!! Listening to the game, not the choice of route! Made it home safely!

Word to the wise!! Never, I repeat, NEVER eat a couple of sausage sammys just before going to bed!!! Holy crap! I was belching that stuff up all night long!! One such "belching" experience sent me scrambling for the bathroom. I was getting a little more than what I had bargained for. I brushed my teeth with a little more verve this morning. Ewwww...

Getting some more snow today! Maybe as much as 7 inches will fall by the time it is over. Cool!

National Lampoon's Christmas...
As I Sit in my hotel room, about to once again have a blessed, stressed, and loud xmas experience, I have realized I do not have enough beer to see me through this. True, a case of beer ought to be enough for any man, but... I am no ordinary man and this is no ordinary family experience... Today is for the In-Laws, whoa Nelly!! Tomorrow, we'll see my side of the family. Which, by comparison is a marginally better experience because they are blood relations. HAHAHAHA!!!

As every year passes my desire to send an xmas card and gift via USPS or UPS surpasses my desire to drive 250+ miles and do it all, in person, in one weekend. Talk about feeling like Jolly Old Saint Frickin Nick. Two crabby ass kids, one saint of a wife, and my dread of the holiday just makes for a lousy xmas experience.

Now, don't get me totally wrong!! I am not a scrooge or grinch, but I am a sympathizer!! I love my xmas experience with my wife and kids on xmas eve and xmas morning.

I just keep telling myself, in 24-28 hours from this exact minute, it will all be over and, I will only have to drive home. Yeah, great, 4 hours of listening to the kids yelling at each other:-)

Borrowing a great line from a great movie; "God bless the Internet". As well as laptop computers and hotels that have free wireless access!!!!!!! This is a great release for a geek like me.

More Snow... Gas Going South... A Frozen Metonga
Over the last few days, we got a bit more snow, maybe 3-4 inches. Places to our north, up in the snow belt of the UP and northern, WI., got quite a bit! Lucky bastages!! I think they were measuring in feet.

Driving to and from work sucks and adds a bit more time to an already long commute, but the new skins on Yota are doing a fine job. How are the gas prices where you are? They're dropping around here. I think the gas station tonight was at $1.78 or $1.79, better than $2.19!!

BP says that Lake Metonga has frozen over, finally! He is very proud of the fact that he prognosticated this event, to happen this day!! I bore witness to the foretelling at the Metonga Lakeside Resort this past Saturday night; whence forth it was uttered from his fermented mash saturated lips! Ok, Nostradamus of the ice. When will it freeze next year??? :-) Post the freezing date in the comments and we'll come back to it next year, hehehe.

Metal Heads in Mourning...
So, has anyone else been listening to more Pantera in the last day or so? Kinda sad what happened to the former Pantera guitarist, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. Sounds like a disgruntled fan decided that if Dimebag wasn't playing with Pantera, he wasn't gonna play anywhere. Dimebag's brother was a drummer in their new group, Damageplan, and witnessed the shooting. Good thing the police were there within a minute and gave the shooter a face wash of lead, otherwise, who knows how many others he might have killed. Here is a link to an article on MSNBC. Really wasn't a huge fan of the group Pantera, but "Cowboy's From Hell" and "Walk" were among my favorites.

Shopping::Chicks Versus Guys
With the holiday shopping season upon us in full swing, I just had to share with you something that Terri sent me. It seems that she received it in a forwarded e-mail that appears to have gone to half of the known e-mail addresses on the Internet. I thought it was really funny... I also found it to be really TRUE!!! So I had to post it:)

The truth about chicks shopping versus guys!!

Thanks, Terri!

Oof da...
That Packer game was pure ugliness!! Yeouch! Thank God the Viqueens lost ta da Bears!

Everything is going good around here! Snow is still on the ground and there is a threat that we'll get up to another 3 inches or so throughout Monday.

Michelle felt the pain of being low woman on the totem pole in her new job. Some woman started working there a couple weeks before Michelle; she bumped Michelle into the "fill-shift" position for female Correctional Officers. Even after she told Michelle she wouldn't. Oh well, can't blame her, and she has been there longer... Means Michelle won't have a set schedule of 4 days on, 4 days off. The one good thing is that the majority of her shifts will be day shift, but she'll have to work both, day and night shifts. They are looking to hire another person, maybe a female, Michelle can crap on her:-) Michelle said it sounded as though they were going to hire a male.

Not much to say, but a couple links...
Here is a cool article about Brett Favre and his 200th regular season game start. I like the writer, Steve Czaban. He's got a pretty entertaining site for the guys:-)

See if this site has a picture of your favorite Rock 'n Roller in their youth. It's funny seeing the Metallica guys! Manson looks like some geeked out nerd who probably got beat up often. SIte is in some foriegn language, but the names are in English.

Keep a tight one... (Thanks Jimmy)
