| Santa Tracker at NORAD | ||
|
I know my kids have gotten a kick out of this in years past, so I have to put the link out so we can watch the clips of Santa's progress as he travels the globe. Click on Santa below to go to the NORAD tracker page. Hope you all have a nice holiday! Of course I should not forget the great flash links over at JibJab.com. I love the Farting Elves, haha. I should have remembered to get this link out here earlier so that you can generate your own letter to Santa. We had a ton of fun with this last year at my old job. Here is the link. |

Happy shortest day of the year... For all you who hate the lack of daylight, fear not, the days are now getting longer! For those of us that like the cold and snow, it has all just begun! Illness update: I still feel like ass. Saw doctor for follow up to ER visit. He believes that it is a rib injury that did not show up on the xray and that, coupled with my respiratory issues could have caused the pleurisy. They took more xrays to see what, if anything, they can see. He said not all rib breaks will show up on an xray but, he sure found a couple that, when pressed upon, really freakin hurt. I am stopping the vicodin and am taking darvocet now, maybe that won't play with my mind and I can sleep. I may need BP to put electric start on the sled or the next month may be shot for any riding attempts. And he'd have to add Cadillac like suspension so the bumps don't jar me too bad:) These posts have been long lately, so time for a short one. |

| I am so wasted... | ||
|
I started a coughing jag last night after dinner that ended up with me feeling like someone stuck me in the ribs with a knife. It was more than I could take and I only had to look at Michelle for her to know what was going to happen next... We drove to the hospital in that nasty snow with some super crappy roads. Michelle did a great job getting me there in one piece, mostly because I couldn't stress her out with my criticism. I could barely breathe let alone tell her to "go right, go left, slow down, speed up". I can only say that the pain was the worst I have ever felt in my life and it is only with the help of Extra Strength Vicodin that I can write this now. I had in the past once been reduced to crawling because back pain was so bad from herniated discs. I once had to stop at a hospital in Columbus, MT because of the severe back pain I had while driving truck. That back pain, while freakin bad, was nothing compared to that sharp pain that gripped me for about an hour until they tapped a vein on my hand for an IV and started pumpin that morphine into my fat carcass. The anxiety of the ordeal began to diminish and I was able to breathe easier, but it wasn't until after the third or fourth dose of morphine was pumped in. It was interesting, the affect that the morphine had on my blood pressure. When my first pressure was taken it was 148/96 or something, pretty damn high. With each dose to come my blood pressure kept coming down. The last one I recall was 112/74 or so. Before they could give me the morphine they had to rule out a heart attack. I knew it wasn't that and they were pretty sure it was not that, but they had to follow their course of action and I understood that. The EKG was good and I wasn't having a heart attack so then they carted me down to x-ray to see if I had broken or dislocated any ribs. My money was that this was going to be the cause. I had once cracked a rib when I was younger and it hurt a whole lot, not like this, but it was similar. 10 minutes later and another hit of morphine and the ER doctor came in and said my x-ray looked great. Now we was concerned with a blood clot or pleurisy affecting my lungs. He told us what a BFD (bad f***in deal) a blood clot could be in the lung, and I also knew that from past emergency medical training. It was time for a CT scan. They wheeled me down to the CT scanner and once again I had to get off the bed and onto another table. Any movement just amplifies the pain, I think I got another hit of the morphine before I went. Getting the CT scan required yet another, bigger IV to be plugged into another vein. They needed a "contrasting agent" to be pumped into my system quickly while the shot the picture. Man, once they started pumping that stuff into me, I thought I was having a heart attack! Holy crap did I start to sweat and get hot. Back in my ER room awaiting the results and wondering just WTF would happen if I had a blood clot... Doctor came in and said there was no blood clot but that there appeared to be some pneumonia in both lungs and that my final diagnosis was pleurisy. He explained to Michelle and I about the inflammation and how to treat it. Basically on my third dosing of antibiotics in as many weeks, this time the antibiotics are called Levaquin, supposedly some good crap. I already mentioned the pain management and then I take 600 MG of Ibuprofen 3x a day for the inflammation. We're supposed to go visit family this weekend for Christmas, but I am not certain if I will be able to go. Maybe I will take a vicodin and have my own little trip on the trip down. I just don't wanna get on another coughing jag while outta town and go through this again. A big super duper thanks to BP and Mrs. BP for taking in the kids while we was at the hospital. Another super duper thanks to spell checker! Without that you guys would have no clue what I wrote. Hell, I don't know what I wrote. Can't wait until next week when I can read it again :) I almost forgot that I made Michelle get out the phone and snap a picture of me. Even on my death bed all I can think about is content for this site. This is after my last magic dose of narcotics and we were waiting for discharge instructions.

| Award Winning Chili Recipe | ||
Jeff, over at the BZT Weekly entered into a chili cooking contest this past Thursday at the Tyranena Brewery in Lake Mills, WI and took first place! He has given me permission to post the recipe here. I will copy and paste the recipe from The BZT Weekly Forums page. Jeff sent me a message yesterday saying that you may want to cut the Chipotle pepper amount in half. He says, "I didn't realize til tonight after having a good bowl of it how damn hot it is. Your call". There you have it, you may wanna cut down on the Chipotle peppers. Of course if you have not yet listened to one of the BZT Weekly shows, you should!! Here is Jeff's post and recipe:Yes, last night, December 8th, 2005, I won Best Overall in the 3rd Annual Tyranena Brewery Chili Cookoff!I don't know... Any recipe that included some Rocky's Revenge has gotta be great! I know that Michelle and the kids would hate this as they can't stand any heat. Maybe this would be a good thing to bring to next years Duck Off... What say you, BP? A big old batch of this at the Duck Off in 2006? Or, would the fact that there is open flame in the shack be a prohibiting factor? |

Keep a tight one... (Thanks Jimmy)
