Vacation... Finally!
Was all geared up to be on vacation this week, and then, due to the surgery to yank out my stone encrusted gallbladder on Jan 2nd, I had to move my vacation forward one week.  I happily left work today and won't have to return until Jan 7th.  The boss man is taking my on-call next week so I don't have to deal with it, but now I will have to go back to work and be on call the week I return.  That sucks...  I dread being on call anymore, the quality of programming is really in the crapper.  Just as I was leaving they were dealing with more of that...  I held up my hand and said "I am on vacation..." and headed out.  Well, not really, I listened to a programmer bitch about it and then left, haha.  Good luck, Clair!

Hope everyone has a groovy new year!  Not sure if I will get back out here to make another post beforehand.  I am sure I will make a few more posts this year on the other site.

Merry Christmas!!
I normally post this message on Christmas Eve...  Well, I had to make a very special call to the bearded one in the North Pole and ask for a very special favor.  I have asked that Christmas, for our house only, be moved to the morning of December 24th.  Now mind you, that does NOT change the actual birth date for Christ, it simply gets us early delivery on goodies, kinda like paying for next day air, you get it sooner, haha.  There still will be Christmas services, for those of you who partake, on December 25th.  Please don't confuse our early Christmas with any actual change in Christ's birthday.  Anyway, we've always celebrated our Christmas on Christmas morning, usually followed by a ginormous spread of bacon, sausages, eggs, toast, french toast, pancakes, juices, coffees, and all kinds of other stuff.  Well, this year, Michelle has to work Christmas day, from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.  Sure, it sucks, but that's the way it goes when public service is your career.  We considered asking Santa if he could drop them off on Christmas Eve, like he does at so many others houses, but, Michelle is singing at the church service on Christmas Eve, and by the time we get back home, it would be pretty late to start that stuff.

Unfortunately, for me, I was not able to convince my surgeon to see me last Friday, so now, I have to see him on, what is now, our Christmas day, at 11:00 AM and the clinic is an hours drive away.  If you're wondering why i have to see a surgeon, and you don't keep up with my personal blog, oh well, stay in the dark.  So, I will be waking the kids up early this year!!  Yeah, me, I will!!  Why??  I want my breakfast, damnit!!  hahahahahaha  I am not one of those people who look upon this holiday with selfishness, I am not a materialistic person and don't want presents and all that stuff.  No way!!  I want my breakfast!!!  haha  Although, I must say, my bass guitar is by far the coolest thing ever!  I have learned a couple variations of jingle bells, haha.  No, I will NOT record it and post it!!

Merry Christmas!!  Again, we are not changing the birth date of Christ!!  Jeez, all these friggin CYA statements.  Someone is still gonna email me and say "you can't move Christmas...".  Well, guess what?  We are!!  And I will have plenty of photographic proof that he came one whole day earlier, so there!

ho-ho-ho

December 1st and a couple changes
Hey y'all!  Can't believe that it is December 1st already, dang!  Been blogging like a madman on my page, check it out, if you like.

I came in to this site today to do some maintenance and cleanup.  I decided the webcam had to go.  I so rarely boot into windows to run the cam software, that I just said screw it for now.  That doesn't mean one won't come back, soon...  I found that Camorama works with Linux and USB cams, have been testing with a POS laptop cam.  The problem with the current cam is that it is an RS-232 cam and needs its own Windows software to access the cam.  I moved the flag and date into the box the cam used to occupy.  Added the little seasonal xmas trees to the header and removed the "hosting by" stuff in the footer.  No need since the biz is closing shop.  Shaved the ShowNav() function by a couple hundred bytes, it's all good!

We have a decent sized storm coming in today!  They say we could get 8-12 inches of the white stuff today.  I bet Jeff down at the BZT headquarters is already seeing it!  His area is supposed to get lesser amounts, but they'll get it first.  We'll see if the weather guessers get it right.  It has been so cold here the last week or two that we have to be setting some kind of record for earliest ice...  I dunno the history up here since I've only been here 6.5 years, but I think this is pretty damn early in comparison to years past.  Maybe BP South will weigh in with his lifelong knowledge of the area.

Keep a tight one... (Thanks Jimmy)
